Shell Tellus S2 MX 46 is an ISO VG 46 grade Industrial Hydraulic Fluid.
Shell Tellus S2 MX fluids are high performance hydraulic fluids based on group II base oils that provide outstanding protection and performance in most manufacturing and many mobile equipment operations. They resist breakdown under heat or mechanical stress and help prevent damaging deposit formation that can decrease the efficiency of your hydraulic power system.

Note : Shell Tellus 27 did not map cleanly onto an ISO VG grade when the ISO viscosity standardisation system came into effect. Shell Tellus 27 falls between ISO VG 32 and 46, and either can be used as a substitute. At the time of the change, Shell recommended ISO VG 46 should be used as the replacement.

To simplify specification of machine oils for their machines, they adopted an approved products list, grouping oils from various manufacturers into categories with minimum specifications. Instead of specifying one particular manufacturer of oil for their machines, they suggest you choose an oil from the approved products list in the relevant category.
